“Respect the Past-Protect the Future” will honor innovators in cyber security
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb 28, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) — On the evening of September 13, 2012, Baltimore, Maryland will become the focus of the National Cyber Security Community as 10 icons from industry, academia, and government will be named to the inaugural class of the National Cyber Security Hall of Fame. The Cyber Security Hall of Fame’s vision is: “Respect the Past-Protect the Future” and each year will honor the innovative people and organizations that had the vision and leadership to create the foundation of the cyber security industry.
The Cyber Security Hall of Fame will accept nominations from companies and organizations around the country that are engaged and committed to the growth of the cyber security industry. Each year the Cyber Security Hall of Fame will enshrine ten leaders in one or more of the following areas:
– Technology: Those leaders who conceived, invented, and built technology that created the foundation for the industry and led to substantial improvement, on a widespread basis, in the ability to protect the information and systems in the cyber domain. Such technology should have had enduring value and groundbreaking impact.
– Policy: Those leaders in the public and private sectors who have had the vision to create policy that would provide focus to the government and the private sector with regard to those things which need to be done to ensure that the information and systems in the Nation’s cyber domains can be adequately protected.
